In 1998, a website was created allowing people to anonymously share their own stories about their “First Times.” It was an instant phenomenon with more than 50,000 stories pouring in from around the globe. These true stories about first intimate experiences written by real people—from the hysterical to the heartbreaking—are brought to life in this unforgettable play. MonstersandCritics.com said, “Davenport takes a sensational topic and turns it into an instrument by which he reminds everyone in the room that their similarities greatly out number their differences” and The Village Voice calls My First Time, “Funny and touching to sweet, sexy and silly.”

“This play deals openly, honestly and with the full range of feelings and emotions, along with some audience input, with one of life’s most sensitive and personal ‘rites of passage’ and thus fits with our season theme perfectly,” reflected Walter Hill, FYT Associate Artistic Director in charge of programming and producing the Off the Press Series.

The Off the Press Series includes some of the latest plays from Broadway, Off-Broadway and the American Regional Theatre. Readings in the series are recommended for adults and older teens. The Off the Press Series is sponsored by Fandangles’.
