FVP ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR: “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change”

And the Lord God said, ‘Let there be light’, and there was light.

And the Lord God said, ‘Let There Be Man and Woman’ and there was man and woman.” “And that night man asked woman if she was busy. .

Thus begins I Love You, You’re Perfect Now Change the hit Off-Broadway musical comedy about relationships throughout one’s life.

The show is presented in a series of vignettes connected by the central theme of love and relationships. Vignettes in the First Act deal primarily about single life and dating, while vignettes in the Second Act deal with life after marriage.

For the most part, these scenes stand independent of each other.

Casting Requirements: The show was originally cast with 4 cast members (2 men; 2 women) between the ages of 25-35. These cast members created the show’s 56 different characters. We plan expand the cast to accommodate as many as 15 or more; ages from midtwenties to eighties!

This is not a dance intensive show, but it IS a musical. Being able to harmonize will sure help!

The main challenge for actors will be to create a variety of comedic characters.

Time Commitment: That really depends on how many people we end up casting. If we chose only 4, plan on being at the playhouse 4 nights a week.

Most likely cast members should plan on being available for 2-3 nights a week for the first month, then rehearsals will be up to 4&5 nights a week as we get closer to show time. If you are in more than one scene, we will do all we can to rehearse your scenes on the same night.

Rehearsals: Rehearsals will begin January 9. We will rehearse Mondays – Thursdays from 6:30 to 9:00pm (leaving some Fridays open as needed). Production dates for this show are February 16 – 26.

This show is going to be so much fun!

Audition Location:  Fenton Village Playhouse January 5 & 6 (Thurs-Fri) 6:30 pm
